Silver and Sterling Silver Jewelry Care Recommendations
The following are some general recommendations
to care for your silver jewelry. If you have any specific
questions, please feel free to contact
us.
-
It is important to store various jewelry
pieces separately from each other. To protect silver
jewelry while in storage and limit its tendency
to tarnish, we recommend placing them in a soft
velvet pouch such as the SparkleSparkle® GemPouch.
-
We do not recommend the use of commercial silver dip cleaners. Many contain strong
acids and carcinogenic chemicals to clean the silver. These same chemicals can cause damage to gemstones set in the silver, and can be absorbed into the body through the skin.
-
We recommend rubbing or buffing
silver with only a soft lint-free
cloth such as the SparkleSparkle® GemCloth. Even
tissue paper and paper kitchen towels can leave
scratches.
-
To clean heavily soiled gemstones set in silver, we recommend the use of an ultra soft brush such as the SparkleSparkle® GemBrush. Using a toothbrush may scratch silver jewelry.
